First of all

Hi guy's..Thanks for being with us.

Short introduction info about our website "Song-makes-musicbusiness.com".

So,a few years ago I decided to created this website to share all the knowledge that I 'I've gathered through the years. I always say that I can't learn how to write a hit song, because if there was a recipe for hit songs, every one would writing hit songs, and hit-songs would become normal. Compare it as if everybody would know the winning numbers of the lottery..and hit the jackpot..

What I do is giving advice on how to promote, and record your songs as a professional would do. Also, I try to find resources that accept demo submissions, and that's probably the biggest work, and also very highly targeted by our site's visitors..

Our site "Song-makes-music-business.com" in numbers.

Our website has 190 pages online..home page included.

At the moment we receive more then 11000 Unique visitors monthly.. and about 15,000 returning visitors..

Most of our visitors, about 70 %,are from the United States, 15% from the UK, and the rest from Europe, Australia, Canada China and more than 100 other countries..

There are also the Back Issues. These are the newsletter in the past published. These stay online on our site.. Every visitor that comes to our site can read them..

.

article: FAQ about the copyright ...

We will take a look to our question that we got last few month and they to give an honest answer. Or better , we gonna try to update of the info we've shared in the past.. Things are changing, and our inside in the music business can change also..

About copyright of music..

Is your material copyright the moment you write that song ? Not true. There's never a full proof way to avoid infringing your copy rights..But doing nothing that means nothing..

In the past many people told me to send an post stamped envelope with your music included to yourself.. But nevertheless this is also no 100 % proof of copyright..

What can you do.. Register your material...

If you are a from the US,then

the United States Copyright Office accepts registrations, for songs, and music created by US citizens. Most important advantage of copyrighting your songs, is that your songs are protected by law..If you think that someone has infringing your copyrights, then you can act, an infringement suit can be filed in a US court..

This service cost money, but if strictly take, for the law, this is the most sure way of copy righting

Infringement of your copyright..

Luckily, these things are not happen every day, let's say that they even rarely occur ( My opinion of course).. but disasters can happen when leased expected.. Even the famous pop stars are suit for infringement of copyrights..Madonna, Michael Jackson..to name a few..I don't want to say that they stole music from others, but some songwriters where convinced of the fact that their music sounded the same as well known radio hit songs.. So, they brought the big stars in court..But in most cases they ( famous pop stars) won the battle..

If you send music to the music industry, or if you put it on Youtube, then make sure to the public that your material is original, and that you own the rights of the work..You could do this easily by adding these words to every piece of music that exposed publicly .

Copyright symbol, then the year (2013)

© 2013 (Your Name: John Songwriter) All Rights Reserved

You can also state: All rights stay with the owner of the copyrights. Or Copy or multiplying this work or parts of the work are not allowed without explicit permission of the owner of the copyrights..

Like I said..

The only sure way (In the US) is to use the forms of the US copyright office.. ( Try to find out if there's a copy right office in your country..) Here's a link to that service.. Read the info, and think about..

Some songwriter organizations provide a copyright service too..But as always, it's never 100% safe... Sending a envelope with with your songs included, for instants on a small SD card. So the stamp on the posted envelope will state the date..It's also a way to protect your music, but not 100% safe..

There are also performing right associations.. ASCAP, and BMI,in the US who inform songwriters concerning copyright, and collect royalties on behalf of the members.

So, this surely an interesting way to follow.. These associations, or organizations exist in every country around the world..

www.ascap.com

In your country

Simply add the name the country and copyright in the Google search box. As an example : "Copyright France" and see what this search will ..

To come to ASCAP again, they'll accept members from the whole world.. So if you don't find a copyright association in your country, subscribe with them..On their website you'll find also a lot of useful information for songwriters.. In the UK the biggest copyright organization calls "MCPS - PRS"..

I'll leaf it with this ..
