Our site is about songwriting..with a lot of other news and information also.. Info about music business, music promotion, music recording... Why this website? A few years ago I decided to created this website to share all the knowledge that I 'I've gathered through the years.
I always say that I can't learn how to write a hit song, because if there was a recipe for hit songs, every one would writing hit songs, and hit-songs would become normal. Compare it as if everybody would know the winning numbers of the lottery..and hit the jackpot..
What I do is giving advice on how to promote, and record your songs as a professional would do. Also, I try to find resources that accept demo submissions, and that's probably the biggest work, and also very highly targeted by our site's visitors..
Our site "Song-makes-music-business.com" in numbers.

article: Songwriting and music publishingFrequent asked question concerning songwriting..and music publishing Some new songwriters ask me: "Do I need a publishing deal?".
Songwriters yes, performing artist, no..But, in general you don't need a publishing deal with a publishing company..if you wish to sell your songs on the Internet.. There are so many bands who selling their songs on through the Internet, and they don't have any deal at all.No publisher, and no record label, but still selling songs.. So, a performing artist can sell his songs and take all the commissions himself.
.He owns the rights of the music, so all the royalties coming from the copyrights are his. He's in fact the publisher from his own songs..So, perhaps it would be not such a bad idea to start a music publishing company..
How to do this? Well , there are books, and courses to find, again on the Internet..Just type in the right keyword in one of the search engines "How to start a music publishing company?" and you'll find enough stuff to think about. No doubt.. Starting a publishing company takes time and effort..cost even money..
While your first concern is to write good strong songs ( as many as you can), then time will be a problem..So perhaps finding a real music publisher ( instead of doing the publishing yourself) would be a good idea..You can leave all the work to the publisher and focus only on your songwriting..
An other advantage of a music publisher..
Famous songwriters all have a publisher who do the publishing and who collects the royalties , and other income on their behalf.. Suppose that you write a world hit! A song that goes around the world.. It would be very difficult, and a huge task to control the copy rights of these songs..
If you don't have a publisher who does this job on your behalf, you wouldn't see a snap of your earnings.. Let's take Bob Dylan as an example..One of the most famous songwriters of all times. His songs are covered by the most famous bands and music artists on the planet..
So,because of the royalties, for Bob it's Christmas all year long, and this year after year,. This, because of the publisher who collects the royalties and makes the arrangements of who's going to sing his songs..Some one has to do the financial business.. I took Bob Dylan as an example, but there are a lot more songwriting artists..too many to name them all..
If it's about millions of dollars, then some one with the knowledge, and the feeling for business is best placed to handle this matter.. Otherwise they ( the songwriter) would miss a lot of money..believe me.. Some new beginner songwriters are placing there songs on the net for free. Would you think that a bakery would give away bread for free..or any other business..? If you have good songs, then people need to be prepared to pay .. Giving away your songs for free is , if you ask me, stupid.. You will never make money if you give away your music for free..
Usefull servicess..Copyrights...To come to ASCAP again, they'll accept members from the whole world..
You've come to...The end of this month Issue.
